Join our researchers and collect valuable field data to assist in their ongoing research on dolphins, turtles, seasonal humpback whales, manta rays, whale sharks, megafauna and other sensitive marine fauna. Volunteers can expect to participate in the following field work: taking identification photo’s, checking acoustic listening stations, observing environmental conditions, studying plankton and measuring ocean giants.
Depending on what research is being done at the time of your visit you could assist our scientists preparing acoustic listening stations, processing tissue samples and setting up cameras to monitor a wide variety of aquatic marine life.
While previous dive experience is recommended, diving certification can be included in your package. If you are already a certified diver you will receive a $120 discount off of your programme fees. Our volunteers partake in four “ocean activities” per week, which are usually dives, but can be swopped for ocean safari’s at the volunteer’s discretion.
